Further Fire Exit Sign Information

If there is a change of level down then an arrow down sign is required. If the escape route is staight on then an arrow up is required. The arrow up may cause some confusion but any directional sign that has an arrow up denotes"straight on". Fire exit signs that have directional arrows "down and to the right or left" are usually used on stairways to denote that the escape route is down a level and the the right or left. The same applies to the directional signs "up and to the left or right". All our fire exit signs come in a photo luminescent form which means they will glow in the dark in the event of a lighting failure or fire. This is essential to a quick and panic free escape from any building. If you are not sure of how many exit signs you may need a good rule of thumb is that you should always be able to see one fire exit sign from any point in a building. Our fire exit signs come in 3 sizes depending on the size of building. The further you are away from a fire exit sign the larger it will need to be. Remember to keep all fire exits clear at all times.
All our signs have been through vigoruous testing and comply to the highest of International and British Standards. They all comply to BS 5499-4:2000.
Other fire exit signs and systems that are usefull in certain environments are our Way-Guidance systems which can be found on our on-line catalogue. These include such systems as low level lighting escape route system, stairnosing, path marking and stair tread markers. We can also supply photoluminescent floor mounted signs and floor disc markers. For extra highlighted escape routes we at Firecelluk can supply photoluminescent paint for hand rails and skirting etc.
